Every year, the nation awaits Diwali. Known as the festival of lights, Diwali signifies new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. On this auspicious occasion, Akshay Kumar announced his next film. Titled Ram Setu, the film will be directed by Abhishek Sharma. Giving his fans a Diwali surprise, Akshay shared his look from Ram Setu on social media.
Akshay, on Instagram, shared two posters. In the picture, the superstar is seen sporting slightly long hair. Dressed in a casual tee, denim jacket and pants, Akshay wore a saffron scarf around his neck. It looks like Akshay's character is on a journey to keep the ideals of Ram alive. An image of Ram forms the backdrop of the poster. "This Deepawali, let us endeavor to keep alive the ideals of Ram in the consciousness of all Bharatiyas by building a bridge(setu) that will connect generations to come. Taking this mammoth task ahead, here is our humble attempt - RAM SETU ! Wishing you & yours a very Happy Deepawali!" Akshay wrote.
Ram Setu is produced by Akshay's mother Aruna Bhatia and Abundantia Entertainment's Vikram Malhotra. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is directing Akshay in Prithviraj, is the creative producer.
Akshay's recently released film Laxmii on Disney+Hotstar became the biggest opening film ever on the OTT platform. The superstar, apart from Ram Setu, has films like Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj and Atrangi Re. He completed the shoot of Bell Bottom amid the pandemic. Akshay is awaiting the release of Sooryavanshi.
