Exclusive: Tum Bin 2 actor Aditya Seal to play baddie in Student of The Year 2

Remember Aditya Seal? The gawky teenager infatuated with the mesmerizing Manisha Koirala in Shashilal Nair’s Ek Chhotisi Love Story of 2002? Well, he’s a hunk now, all of 30, and the face behind several consumer brands including Ponds, Garnier and Mountain Dew. News is that Aditya has landed a kickass role in Dharma Productions’ Student of The Year 2 that’s under production. It’s all very hush-hush at the moment but he reportedly plays the baddie opposite Tiger Shroff in the campus rom-com being directed by Punit Malhotra.

Aditya was only 14 when he fell for Manisha’s charms in the Bollywood fantasy Ek Chhotisi Love Story. The film was controversial and didn’t do well. And Aditya was lost to his teen years until Purani Jeans reintroduced him to Bollywood in 2014. He did play small teenage roles in films likeWe R Friends (2006) and Say Salaam India (2007) but largely went unnoticed. Purani Jeans, also featuring yesteryear actress Rati Agnihotri’s son Tanuj Virwani and Izabelle Leite, brought him back to public notice.

After that, Aditya did Anubhav Sinha’s romantic drama Tum Bin 2 in 2016 alongside debutant Aashim Gulati and Neha Sharma. The film made a splash but Aditya’s Bollywood career didn’t take off. Now there is hope for the handsome dude because in Karan Johar’s films, even the Dharma Productions villains get noticed. Student of the Year 2 also marks the debut of Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Pandey and VJ turned actress Tara Sutaria. The film is slated to release in May 2019. But before that, Aditya will be seen in the Arjun Kapoor-Parineeti Chopra starrer Namaste England that will release on October 19.
