Here’s confirmation: Neither Janhvi nor Sara have been signed for Karan Johar’s next productions

News reports have been doing the rounds about Janhvi Kapoor being roped in for Dharma Productions next. She is already making her debut with the banner’s Hindi remake of Sairat, titled Dhadak. Certain industry sources were then quick to suggest that she would also be signed up for Karan Johar’s next production, to be directed by debutant Raj Mehta.

However, PeepingMoon.com sources say there is no truth in this story. Nor in the news that Sara Ali Khan, who has already bagged Dharma’s Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh, has been shortlisted for Karan Johar’s other production, Rannbhoomi, starring Varun Dhawan.

This news too is a tad premature.

Our source reveals that while Karan is very close to both Janhavi and Sara, both actresses are currently doing just one film each with his production house. The Dharma head honcho has taken Janhvi firmly under his wing, and she has grown even closer to him as she looks up to him as a mentor and guide, post the untimely death of her mother, Sridevi.

Similarly, Karan is extremely fond of Sara, and had even wished to launch her till the debutante chose to sign on Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath instead. After the fate of this film, co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput seemed doomed following the director’s intense fracas with producers KriArj, it was Karan who came to Sara’s rescue, so to speak, signing her on for the Rohit Shetty film, Simmba. Now with Ronnie Screwvala having salvaged Kedarnath, the film will be Sara’s debut, after all, releasing November 30, 2018.

Janhvi’s debut film Dhadak hits the screens on July 20, 2018. Karan will have ample time to gauge the individual popularity and strengths of each actress. While there is no doubt that he would want to work with them in future, there is no jumping the gun prematurely for now!
