Debutante actress under Kedarnath contract finds career on hold till Dec 2018

Every Bollywood debutante has a wish list of actors she would like to work with. And Sara Ali Khan, who makes her debut in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath next year opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, is no exception. The daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh wanted to work with Shahid Kapoor in the actor’s next film. But her dream remains unfulfilled because she is under contract with Abhishek and cannot do any film until Kedarnath releases.

Shahid Kapoor is working on two films after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati: Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul: Meter Chalu and Bhansali’s next, Tuesdays and Fridays. Initially, rumours were that Katrina Kaif was supposed to do Batti Gul, the electricity scam story and Bollywood celebrated the first time pairing of the actress with Shahid. But that rumour has been denied by the director himself. And the search continues for a heroine or Batti Gul.

As for Tuesdays and Fridays, news is that Kiara Advani has signed a three-film deal with Bhansali and the first of these films will be his Tuesdays and Fridays opposite Shahid. The film is a romantic comedy and will involve a lot of dancing which Shahid is famous for. So where does that leave Sara? Nowhere as of now.  With the release of Kedarnath getting pushed to December 2018, the newbie finds that her debut is an entire year away. While other debutantes like Jhanvi Kapoor will get their Bollywood break before her.

Meanwhile, some people in Bollywood are trying to figure out why Sara Ali Khan is anxious to work with Shahid Kapoor. Was it just a young girl’s fancy? Or was she enamored with the dashing actor since the time her father Saif Ali Khan famously stole her stepmom, Kareena Kapoor, away from the actress’ Jab We Met dashing co-star and real-life lover? There’s no telling. But Sara won’t get her film with Shahid, that’s for certain.
