PeepingMoon Exclusive: Special Covid Room set up for Amitabh Bachchan at Nanavati; hospital doctors visit Jalsa to examine Aishwarya, Aaradhya

Information seeping out of the tightly-guarded Nanavati Hospital at Vile Parle is that the Bachchans, veteran actor Amitabh and son Abhishek, are in close touch with the family back at home in Jalsa at JVPD. Both were admitted there last night after they tested positive for Covid-19. While Aishwarya and Aaradhya are also said to be positive, the mother and her eight-year-old daughter are asymptomatic, so they have been quarantined at home and are in self-isolation. Matriarch Jaya, her daughter Shweta Nanda and grandson Agastya have tested negative.

A special makeshift ICU has been set up for Mr. Bachchan at Nanavati Hospital. It’s board outside says “Special Covid Room”. The room has been installed with a ventilator and multi-organ, life-support systems. The room is reportedly sanitized every four hours. A doctor and nurse wearing full PPE suits monitor the veteran actor round the clock.

The medical team of Nanavati Hospital attending on Mr. Bachchan is believed to be in communication with his personal physician who keeps analyzing the actor’s condition. A team of surgeons is also on standby given the comorbidities that he is suffering from. Abhishek has a similar room. Police personnel stand guard outside the Special Covid Room at all hours.

Meanwhile, Jalsa where Jaya, Aishwarya, Aaradhya, Shweta and Agastya are staying is also said to be fully equipped to deal with any emergency related to Covid-19. Two oxygen kits have been brought to the Bachchan residence as a precautionary measure for any breathlessness that the residents may face. A team of doctors from Nanavati Hospital visited Jalsa earlier today to examine Aishwarya and Aaradhya, it is learned.
