PeepingMoon Exclusive: Now Rajkummar Rao signs a comedy that deals with a sexual problem!

PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that Rajkummar Rao has signed a film that comes in the space of Ayushmann Khurana’s 2017 hit Shubh Mangal Saavdhan where the lead hero suffers from a sexual problem. The yet-untitled film is said to be a light-hearted family drama that dissects the taboo subject with a healthy dose of laughter.

Rajkummar is to start shooting at the end of next month in Madhya Pradesh. Amit Rai, who makes his comeback to direction after a decade with this film, will soon begin pre-production work. Rai had previously directed the Paresh Rawal and Om Puri starrer Road To Sangam (2010) about a determined mechanic who – amidst bomb explosions, fake arrest, police brutality and protests – attempts to repair an antique truck to transport the remains of Mahatma Gandhi.

The said film will be produced by Ashwin Varde under his new banner Wakaoo Films. It was launched in a strategic partnership with India’s flagship television production company, Optimystix Entertainment. Varde, who co-produced films like Mubarakan, Notebook and Kabir Singh under the Cine1 Studios banner, parted ways with his business partner Murad Khetani last year after the release of Satelite Shankar. He announced the new production company last month to produce feature films and web content. This Rajkummar film is its first production.

Last seen in Made In China, Rajkummar has a lot to look forward to this year. The powerhouse performer has three films scheduled to release in 2020; Anurag Basu’s Ludo, Dinesh Vijan’s Roohi Afzana and Hansal Mehta’s Chhalaang. He also has an international Netflix Original, The White Tiger, co-starring Priyanka Chopra.

But before starting Varde’s film, Rajkummar has Vijan’s recently announced situational comedy going on the floor on March 12 in Delhi. The Kriti Sanon, Dimple Kapadia and Paresh Rawal co-starrer and Abhishek Jain directorial has been planned to be shot in 30 days in a one schedule.
