The exciting Vicky Kaushal, whose last film was Uri: The Surgical Strike in January, has of late been spotted hobnobbing with Ashutosh Gowariker on the filmmaker’s sets of his historical period drama Panipat. PeepingMoon.com has reliably learned that Vicky has met Gowariker more than a couple of times and it now seems certain that the filmmaker is planning his next project with the tall and dashing actor in mind.
Vicky, who is busy shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s biographical Udham Singh, has been quoted in a recent interview as having said he wants to act in a love story. However, the films lined up for Vicky after Udham Singh are anything but love stories. They include Dharma Productions’ Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship with Bhumi Pednekar, which is a horror film, and Meghna Gulzar’s biographical on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
It is suspected that Gowariker, who weaves romance into his period dramas (remember Mohenjo Daro and Jodhaa Akbar?), is anxious to work with Vicky. He’s already into post-production of Panipat, which stars Sanjay Dutt along with Arjun Kapoor and Yami Gautam, and will launch its trailer only after Dutt’s political drama Prasthanam releases on September 22. The entire cast of Panipat will reportedly sit with Gowariker to cut the trailer.
