Vicky Kaushal expresses his desire to feature in a love story, says 'I would like to do a romantic film'

Vicky Kaushal, who was last seen in Aditya Dhar's Uri: The Surgical Strike, has been widely appreciated for his role as Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army. The film not only impressed the audience and the critics alike but is also the second highest grossing Bollywood film of 2019. The actor is now gearing up for Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham Singh biopic apart from headlining Meghna Gulzar’s film on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Nonetheless, Vicky has emerged as a face of patriotic films. However, the actor is now keen to do a romantic film, if he gets an opportunity.

Speaking about it to a leading daily, Vicky said, “I would love to do a romantic film and whenever I get an opportunity I will do it. Every film has a romantic angle, but at what intensity I can’t reveal now. But I would like to do it." The Masaan actor, who has earlier done digital series like Love Per Square Foot, further claimed that he would like to explore the web space again. “Digital platforms are booming and we all are witnessing it. Of course if there is a good story and setup, and if it works, then I would want to do it. My first love will always be cinema, because the big screen has given me the courage to be an actor. So that will never fade and it’s a great addition to the menu card. If I get something exciting then I will jump into it,” said Vicky.

Meanwhile, apart from biopics on Sardar Udham Singh and Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Vicky will also be seen in a horror film titled Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship. Bankrolled by Dharma Productions, the film also stars Bhumi Pednekar. Not just that, Vicky also has Karan Johar's magnum opus, Takht, in the pipeline. Featuring an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, the period drama is slated to release next year.
