Ekta Kapoor had seen his photographs and wanted to meet him — a moment Pulkit describes as a turning point. What followed was a whirlwind. He was groomed, given a signature haircut, and put through a screen test. The footage was immediately sent across, and soon after, Pulkit found himself sitting across from the woman who would go on to change his professional trajectory. Her verdict was instant. “Okay, done. Ready.”
Amid this sudden professional breakthrough, Pulkit felt an emotional pull. His parents were still unaware of what had just unfolded. In an era before video calls and instant updates, he requested one night to return to Delhi — officially citing medical reasons due to a back issue — but truly, to see his family.
What happened next remains one of his most cherished memories. “Landing in Delhi, I saw my parents waiting at the airport. There were tears, hugs, and barely any words,” he recalls. “Within hours, I was back on a flight to Mumbai — returning to the sets with a heart full of emotion and a future forever changed.”
Pulkit Samrat’s television debut soon became iconic. Introduced as part of the show’s generational leap, he entered Indian households with the song Wo Krishna Hai, which went on to become one of the first full-length launch tracks for a television character. Alongside Mouni Roy, Pulkit emerged as the face of the new generation, a moment firmly etched into Indian television history. “Overnight, brother, overnight, I was a household name,” Pulkit says.
