Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza's film 'Sitare Zameen Par' is going to be released on June 20 and it is considered to be one of the most awaited films of this year. But just a few days before the release, the film faced some objections related to the censor board. According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had objected to some words and scenes in the film and demanded changes.
However, Aamir Khan did not agree with these changes. According to him, the scenes and dialogues that were being talked about were very important for the story of the film and its emotional depth. Due to this, the certification process of the film was stopped for some time. But now an agreement has been reached between the producer and the CBFC and the way for the release of the film has been cleared.
It is being said that after Aamir's disagreement, the matter reached the Revising Committee of the CBFC, which was headed by Vaman Kendre. The committee reviewed the film again on June 16 and suggested changes to some words, which Aamir Khan has accepted. Now the word "business person" has been used in place of "business woman" in the film. The reference to Michael Jackson in a scene has been removed and the word "lovebirds" has been added in its place. Apart from this, the word "Lotus" used in a scene has also been changed, which was considered politically sensitive. The original disclaimer of the film has also been removed and a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now been added to it.
After these changes, the film was given a U/A 13+ certificate on June 17. The total duration of the film is 2 hours 38 minutes and 46 seconds. ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ is the Hindi remake of the Spanish film Champions and is directed by R.S. Prasanna. Now it will be interesting to see how much impact this film makes at the box office after going through sensitive issues.
