Film producer-director Anurag Kashyap is always in the news for his outspoken statements. Recently, in an interview, he said that he is leaving Mumbai and calling Bollywood 'toxic', he also claimed that cinema is over now. Anurag's statement created a lot of stir on social media. Now the director of the film 'Chhaava' Laxman Utekar has reacted sharply to this and called Anurag's views completely wrong.
Recently, in a conversation with YouTube channel 'Mama Couch', Laxman Utekar said, "Anurag Kashyap's statement that the audience does not have the understanding to understand his film is completely wrong. Actually I think he himself does not have the understanding to understand the choice of the audience."
Laxman Utekar also completely rejected Anurag's statement on the end of cinema and the lack of hit films, saying, "If you see the collection of films like 'Baahubali', 'RRR', 'Pushpa' and even Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava', you will know that cinema is not over. These films have earned up to 700-800 crores."
He further said that in today's era, the audience is more aware and updated than ever before. "Now the audience has a mobile in their hands, in which they can watch all kinds of films. Cinema changes every three years and now we also have to update ourselves. As a filmmaker, if you do not change with time, then you are left behind."
