Despite staying away from the glamorous world of Bollywood, South superstar Ajith Kumar has made a special place for himself. Ajith, one of the biggest and most popular stars of Tamil cinema, was recently awarded the country's third highest civilian award 'Padma Bhushan'. On this special occasion, he not only spoke openly about his life, but also shared some important things about his film career and possible retirement.
In an interview given to India Today after the award ceremony in Delhi, Ajith said, "I do not make any plans for retirement. Who knows what may happen tomorrow? Circumstances can force one to take any decision at any time. I do not take anything for granted. Many people complain about life, but for me getting up in the morning and breathing is a blessing."
He further said, "I have suffered many surgeries and injuries in life. Many of my friends and close people are living life fighting serious diseases like cancer. So I know how precious it is to be alive. I want to live every moment to the fullest." Talking about acting, Ajith said, "It was not my dream to become an actor. After school, I worked in an automobile company for six months. I started bike racing at the age of 18. Then I got some advertisements and gradually came into films." It is this simplicity and honesty of Ajith that makes him even more special in the hearts of the common audience.
Ajith believes that he came into films by chance, but now whatever work he does, he does it with complete honesty and dedication. This dedication makes him the 'Thala' of Tamil cinema.
