Earlier this month a report surfaced claiming that the office of Pooja Entertainment has been sold off after the payment dues of Rs 250 crore following the failure of the latest projects by the production house. However, Vashu Bhagnani later clarified that the report was baseless and he hadn’t sold off the property. In fact, he mentioned that it had to undergo some construction development and nothing else.
Now, BN Tiwari, president of FWICE which stands for Federation of Western India Cine Employees, has spoken about the same and mentioned that there are white dues by the owners of the company which are due. He said, "This is unfair what they are doing, they are leading a
luxurious life, and when it comes to paying the dues they are making excuses. In their latest email, they have said they will clear the dues by July end but if they don't do so then our workers will not work on any of their films.”
He also mentioned about the written complaints which were filed earlier but there was no response. According to him, the production house also owes Rs 33.13 lakh to the director of their film Tinu Desai, who directed Akshay Kumar led ‘Mission Raniganj’ which was released last year.
FWICE general secretary Ashok Dubey also mentioned that workers are ‘helpless’ in such a situation. He said, "The workers are helpless. The artist receives money first, but not our workers. It is heartbreaking to see the condition of the workers in the industry; they don't have job guarantee here. Even when they get to work on a project, they don't receive the money on time. They have to wait endlessly for months to get their hard earned money."
Later, there have also been reports stating that Manushi Chhillar, Tiger Shroff and Alaya F, who starred in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ also haven’t received their payments. However, there has been no comment on the same from either of the actors. The film released in April this year resulted in turning into a box office debacle.
