Most people hear that something is forbidden and instinctively stay away. Sidharth Malhotra’s character does the opposite in his new film Vvan. The more mysterious Vvaan becomes, the closer he gets to it. Vvaan isn't introduced as a place waiting to be discovered. It already has a reputation. There are stories around it, a strict boundary around when one can enter and a deep-rooted fear of what happens to those who venture in after dark. Sidharth's character is aware of that world, yet something makes him step towards it anyway. What if he isn't chasing the supernatural? Is he chasing something personal?
The teaser gives us very little about what drives him, and that absence itself feels telling. We see him enter the forest and encounter an atmosphere unlike anything in the world outside it. The strange energy, the imagery and the presence of a supernatural force suggest that his curiosity could be connected to something he has experienced or discovered before reaching Vvaan.Perhaps there is something he needs to find.
That possibility becomes more interesting when the consequences of his entry begin spilling into his life outside the forest. Eventually, Tamannaah Bhatia’s character becomes the center of the supernatural conflict and Sidharth’s choice doesn’t look like a one-off adventure, but the first domino in a larger chain.
Sidharth's character isn't introduced as someone who already understands Vvaan's supernatural rules. Like the audience, he appears to be discovering them as he goes. That makes him our way into this unfamiliar folklore world but it also means he could be making discoveries that the people around him have spent generations avoiding.
If Vvaan has been feared for so long, what makes Sidharth's character willing to get closer when everyone else knows better?
The teaser leaves behind a tantalising possibility - maybe Sidharth doesn't find Vvaan by accident. Maybe he was destined to go in. Perhaps the answers lie in the trailer but its a while before the puzzles sort themselves out in the film.
Backed by some of the country's most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that attempts to take Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.

Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand as DOP and Visual Director, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.
The Vvaan arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, promising a big-screen fantasy folklore experience where the visuals, music, mystery and scale come together to create a world audiences will want to step into.
