Kill teaser review: Not for faint-hearted, Lakshya's gut-wrenching action is a gruesome yet engaging spectacle

The Indian audience has an appetite for action and the box office performance of films belonging to the genre has proven it over the years. Now, it's time to redefine action and violence. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment have joined forces to back Nikhil Nagesh Bhat's directorial, Kill. Starring Lakshya, Tanya Maniktala and Raghav Juyal, the film releases in theatres on July 5.

The makers dropped the much-anticipated Kill teaser today on various digital platforms. Having watched the teaser, it can be said without a doubt that Indian cinema is going to get its path-breaking action cinema this July. Director Nikhil, director of Apurva, and a Creative Consultant for Anurag Kashyap's acclaimed film, Black Friday, doesn't play safe and easy with Kill. From the word go, it is all about fast-paced action, slasher moves and stunts that are not for the weak-hearted. Claustrophobia is just an understated term to describe the feeling while watching Kill and that's what makes it a winner.

Kill's teaser comes with a disclaimer of the viewer's discretion as the video contains intense and disturbing moments. The plot of the film is set on a train. All the action, drama and bloodshed take place in congested and grim-looking corridors. There's one sequence in Kill's teaser that takes place near the lavatory; the cinematography is brilliant and the action choreography deserves a special award. The tension, thrill, and increased heartbeats of the characters can be instantly felt through the video.

Lakshya enjoys a strong fan following for his good looks and charming personality. However, Kill will make him the new-age action hero. Watch out for this powerhouse of talent. Tanya Maniktala has a good screen presence.

Kill's teaser comes with a red band on YouTube. With this, it proves that the makers are all set to present action in a raw and brutal form without playing safe. We're certainly looking forward to the new-age action cinema that's unfiltered and real.
