Farah Khan says Kamal Haasan was approached for Suniel Shetty’s role in Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na

Farah Khan has been a part of the industry for years and have established herself successfully be it as a choreographer or film director. In a recent interview, she spoke about the film ‘Main Hoon Na’ which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Suniel Shetty and Sushmita Sen in the lead. She revealed that initially three actors were approached for the role of a villain which was later played by Suniel. 

In the beginning, the role went to Naseeruddin Shah, Kamal Haasan, and Nana Patekar and Shah Rukh was sure that Kamal would take up the role. Farah said, "For Suniel Shetty's part, so
many stalwarts said no to me. Naseeruddin Shah refused, then we went to Kamal Haasan. Shah Rukh told me, 'Sir will definitely do it. I had done Hey Ram, sir loves me, he will do it. Kamal sir ne mujhe pura din pakaya and phir nahi kiya. Then I approached Nana Patekar, who sat on it for a week and said no.”

Directed by Farah, the film released in 2004. It turned out to be a blockbuster film.
