Raveena Tandon reveals she turned down Rani Mukerji’s role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Raveena Tandon is currently gearing up for her upcoming release Karmma Calling which will release in few days.In a recent interview, the actress went on to talk about Karan Johar’s directorial Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) which featured Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji. The actress further revealed that she was approached for Rani’s role in the film but turned it down for which the director holds her accountable for the same till date.

Raveena said, "Till date, Karan holds me accountable for not doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I was like, ‘Yar tu mujhse aur kuchh bhi kara le.’ In fact, there was a Dharma film Varun Sood and me were supposed to do together, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen".

She also mentioned that Rani’s role was small and as the actress was doing lead films at that time she didn’t want to appear alongside Kajol who was also beginning her career with a lower role. She further added, " Karan still doesn’t forgive me for not doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But he didn’t understand at that time. Kajol was my contemporary. We started together, we were both doing lead roles. So, I couldn’t have done a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, where I was at a lower… where I probably had a smaller role like Rani".

Raveena’s upcoming series Karmma Calling is directed by Ruchi Narain and is set to release on January 26.
