Shiv Sena leader & accused's sister Suprada Phaterpekar apologises to Sonu Nigam post attack at Mumbai concert, says 'please don't believe those who are trying to politicize the matter'

Sonu Nigam’s concert in Chembur, Mumbai on February 20, turned into a nightmare after he was manhandled over a selfie. The ace musician was performing in Chembur when a man attacked him and his team over a selfie. Later, it was reported that the man who manhandled Sonu and his team was MLA Prakash Phaterpekar's son Swapnil Phaterpekar.

Now, Swapnil's sister Suprada Phaterpekar, who is a member of Shiv Sena, has now issued an apology to the singer. She also asked people to not believe "baseless rumours" and "those who are trying to politicise the matter". Suprada took to her Twitter handle in the wee hours of Tuesday and wrote, "As organiser of the Chembur festival, I wish to shed light on some facts about the unfortunate incident that occurred at the end of Chembur Festival 2023. While Shri Sonu Nigam was being hurriedly ushered off the stage after delivering his performance, my brother was trying to take a selfie with him. Due to the rush & furore, there was a commotion that ensued."
