NCB finds ‘several irregularities’ in Aryan Khan case, vigilance probe hints he may've been targeted

Almost a year after arresting Aryan Khan in an alleged drugs-on-cruise case, an internal report by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has found that there were several 'irregularities' in the investigation. The report also discovered 'suspicious behaviour' on the part of seven to eight officers of the agency.

According to a news portal's report, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the NCB to probe allegations of impropriety by its officers in their handling of the case sent the report to its headquarters in Delhi. A source close to the development told the portal, "The investigation found that there were many irregularities in the case. Questions have also been raised about the intention of the officers involved in the investigation."

As per the source, 65 people recorded their statements as a part of the investigation. Reportedly, some changed their statements multiple times. The source told the portal that it was found that there had been selective targeting of some people.

"The role of 7 to 8 NCB officers has been found to be suspicious in this case, for which departmental inquiry has been initiated. Permission has been sought from senior officers to take action against those who are outside NCB," the source further shared.

In the month of May, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's son Aryan was given a clean chit in the drugs-on-cruise case. The NCB then returned his passport.
