R Madhavan's son Vedaant says 'wanted to make name for myself, didn't wanna live under dad's shadow' after winning gold medal at Danish Open

R Madhavan's son Vedaant Madhavan is representing India globally. He is a swimmer, who aspires to make it to the Olympics. To fulfil his dreams, Vedaant has shifted his base to Dubai where he is undergoing extensive training. Last week, Vedaant added a gold medal to his kitty in the men's 800m freestyle at the Danish Open swimming event in Copenhagen.

After the spectacular win for the country, Vedaant spoke to a news agency about establishing his own identity. He told the agency that he just doesn't want to be known as R Madhavan's son. "I didn’t wanna live under my dad’s shadow. I wanted to make name for myself. I didn’t want to be just R Madhavan's son,' Vedaant told.

He further spoke about his parents' sacrifices for him. "They are always looking after me. Both put so much effort. One of the main sacrifices my parents made was to shift to Dubai," Vedaant shared.

R Madhavan and his wife Sarita relocated to Dubai last year to make sure Vedaant's practice sessions are hassle-free.
