After silver, R Madhavan's son Vedaant Madhavan now wins gold medal at Danish Open swimming, actor 'overwhelmed and humbled'

Actor Madhavan's son, Vedaant Madhavan, who is fast emerging as a strong swimmer, has done the country proud by winning a gold medal at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Vedaant won the medal in the 800m men freestyle swimming event and clocked at 8:17:28. Vedaant had earlier won a silver medal in another category at the same meet days back.

Madhavan, who is immensely proud of his son's achievements in swimming, took to Instagram to share his happiness. Posting a video clip of his son receiving the gold medal, the actor wrote, "GOLD….With all your blessings and God‘s greatest the winning street continues.Today it’s a GOLD IN 800m for @vedaantmadhavan. This isn't the first time that Vedaant is winning medals in swimming. Last year, the 16-year-old swimmer had won four silver medals and three bronze medals at the 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships which were held in Bangalore. Two days back, the young champion had won a silver medal at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Before that in March last year, Vedaant had won a bronze at the Latvian Open Swimming Champion event.
