As per reports, Parineeti Chopra, who was roped in to play the female lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, has opted out of the film. Reportedly, she has signed Imtiaz Ali's Chamkeela with Diljit Dosanjh. Parineeti and the makers of Animal are yet to issue an official statement. Amid this, an entertainment portal's report stated that Rashmika Mandanna has been brought on board.
A source close to Animal told the portal, "Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga felt that Rashmika fits the bill to the T. They wanted a fresh cast, rather than repeating the pairing of RK with another actress. The duo feels that both RK and Rashmika will set the screen on fire with their chemistry in Animal. The two share an interesting dynamic in the film."
According to reports, Tripti Dimri is also one of the female leads in Animal. However, there is no official confirmation. Rashmika will mark her debut in Hindi cinema with Mission Majnu which will release on June 10. She also has Goodbye with Amitabh Bachchan.
Animal is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Murad Khetani. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the crime drama will release on August 11, 2023. The film also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol along with Ranbir.
