On June 15, 2021, Anil Sharma-directed Gadar completed 20 years. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead, the film was received well and became a blockbuster. Loaded with heavyweight dialogues, patriotism and terrific performances by the star cast, Gadar created history. Now, 20 years later, Sunny, Ameesha and Anil are reuniting for the sequel of Gadar. The film also stars Utkarsh Sharma, who played the role of Sunny and Ameesha's son in the original film.
Today, on the occasion of Dussehra, Gadar 2 was announced on social media. The makers shared a motion poster. Sunny's Instagram caption read, "After two decades the wait is finally over! On the auspicious day of Dusshera, Presenting to you the motion poster of #Gadar2. The Katha Continues..."
Gadar 2 will take the story of Tara, Sakeena and their son Jeet forward. The story will move ahead with an India-Pakistan angle. Produced by Anil Sharma Productions and Zee Studios, Gadar 2 will be written by Shaktimaan.
Gadar 2 will go on floors soon and it is expected to release in 2022.
