Saira Banu battling depression post husband Dilip Kumar’s death, refuses treatment for acute coronary syndrome

Veteran actress Saira Banu who is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital has reportedly been diagnosed with a heart problem and doctors have advised her to undergo an angiogram procedure. However, as per media reports she has refused permission for the treatment.

A Hinduja Hospital told a news agency, “Yesterday, her cardiac tests happened and she has been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome. Once she gives her consent, doctors can perform an angiography." Doctors have advised her CAG (coronary angiogram) but the 77-year-old actor has refused.

According to the doctor who is attending on her, Saira Banu is also battling depression after the death of her husband veteran actor Dilip Kumar. The doctor said, “She doesn't sleep much. She wants to go home.” Dilip died on July 7 this year at the age of 98 after a long ailment.

However, Saira might be discharged from the ICU and moved to a private room soon. Saira and Dilip Saab were married for a mammoth 54 years. On his death she had said that God has taken away her will to live.
