Filmmaker Kumar Ramsay passes away due to cardiac arrest; Vidhu Vinod Chopra loses elder brother Vir Chopra to COVID-19 related complications

As Bollywood is yet to cope up with the demise of Dilip Kumar, the film industry lost 2 prominent members. Screenwriter and filmmaker Kumar Ramsay passed away this morning. Kumar, the eldest of Ramsay Brothers, had written the scripts for films like Purana Mandir (1984), Saaya (1989) and Khoj (1989)

Kumar's eldest son Gopal told a media agency that he passed away at his residence in Hiranandani, Mumbai, due to cardiac arrest this morning around 5:30 am. The funeral took place around noon. He is survived by his wife Sheela and three sons, Raj, Gopal and Sunil.

On the other hand, Vidhu Vinod Chopra lost his brother, Vir Chopra, due to COVID-19 related complications on July 5. According to reports, Vir, the elder brother of Vidhu, was diagnosed with COVID-19 while he was apparently on a holiday in the Maldives. On returning from the vacation, he was reportedly kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). But, he didn't recover from the virus. Vidhu and the family are yet to issue a statement. 

Vir was a creative producer known for films like Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Eklavya: The Royal Guard, Kareeb, Mission Kashmir and Parineeta.
