Prabhas and Shruti Haasan are playing the lead in Prashanth Neel's pan-India film Salaar. The film went on floors in January in Hyderabad. The scheduled release date of Salaar is April 14, 2022. According to reports, Prabhas and Shruti have wrapped 2 schedules of Salaar. While the name of the antagonist of Salaar is yet to be announced, rumours are rife that Prashanth has approached a Bollywood actor to play the part.
As per reports, the role of the antagonist has been offered to John Abraham. Not much about the role has been disclosed but it is said to be a powerful one. Reportedly, John is yet to give his nod to the film and come on board. The makers of Salaar are yet to address this rumour.

Salaar will be bankrolled by Hombale Films and is said to be along the lines of Prashanth's directorial debut Ugramm (2014) which revolved around a hero who fights against the thugs for a social cause.
