Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar made headlines when he announced his next ambitious project – a trilogy film titled Mr India. While it was being speculated that the film is a remake of Shekhar Kapur’s cult directorial of the same name, Zafar has dismissed such claims. Talking to a portal, he said, “It has got nothing to do with Anil Kapoor's Mr India; it's a new sci-fi film, with a big budget and high production values. We want to create characters like the 'Avengers'. This 'Mr India' will be of international standards.”
The film is also produced by Boney Kapoor and hence Zafar was asked whether any of his children will feature in their dad’s production. To this Zafar simply said that the cast has not been decided yet and whether Janhvi Kapoor will step into mother Sridevi’s role, he said, “Early days still, but Boney Kapoor will be really happy if that happens.”
Apparently, a large part of this film will be ‘very heavy on special effects’. The original Mr India starred Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in the lead with Amrish Puri, Satish Kaushik, Ashok Kumar and Annu Kapoor playing pivotal parts.
