Rekha refuses to get tested for COVID-19, disallows BMC officials from sanitising her bungalow?

Recently it was reported that Rekha’s security guard was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Her bungalow was sealed by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and termed as a Containment Zone. As per procedure, the bungalow had to be sanitized and the residents had to get tested for COVID-19. However, as per media a report, the actor has refused to get the test done or let the BMC sanitize her house Sea Springs.  

According to the portal, when the officials reached the veteran actress’ bungalow, Rekha’s manager Farzana gave them her number and asked them to call her before coming, which surprised them as the officials were supposed to start the sanitising procedure as soon as possible. However, respecting the actor’s request, the Chief Medical Officer of BMC H Westward, Sanjay Phude called Rekha but was informed that she doesn’t need to get tested for Coronavirus since she hasn’t come in contact with anyone diagnosed with the virus. She also claimed that she does not have any symptoms whatsoever of the virus.

A leading daily had earlier reported that Rekha did not want to be tested by BMC officials and had instead opted to get the test done herself along with her other staff. She was supposed to submit the test results to the concerned authorities, which has not been followed up until now. Till now, Rekha has not given any official statement regarding this issue.

Quite a few Bollywood celebrities including Sara Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor’s staff have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in the recent past. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan have tested positive for COVID-19. Anupam Kher’s mother Dulari, his brother Raju Kher and his wife along with their daughter too have been tested positive for Coronavirus.
