Huge loss to the music industry: Adnan Sami, Shankar Mahadevan, Salim Merchant, Harshdeep Kaur and others mourn Wajid Khan's untimely demise

During the wee hours of Monday, Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid duo breathed his last at the age of 42. The ace music composer and singer who delivered chartbusters in Bollywood, majorly with Salman Khan, was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai two months ago. However, due to his heart ailment, his condition deteriorated in the last 10 days. Wajid is said to be infected with Coronavirus 3 days ago. 

Since the time Sonu Nigam broke the news on his social media platform, Bollywood's music industry is shocked with Wajid's sudden demise. From musicians to singers, the industry offered condolence on social media. Adnan Sami, on Twitter wrote, "I’m shocked!! I’ve lost a dear brother Wajid! I can’t come to grips with this tragic news... He was such a beautiful soul.. Oh dear Lord, Please have mercy...   May Allah SWT bless him in Jannat-ul-Firdaus...Ameen."

Shankar Mahadevan shared a picture with Wajid on Instagram and captioned, "This is so so unfair ! Just can’t come to terms with this ! Will miss you my dear brother .. prayers for a peaceful journey ahead .. love you Wajid bhai"

Javed Ali tweeted, "Feeling Deeply Saddened after hearing shocking news of the sudden demise of Wajid Khan @wajidkhan7 May his Soul Rest in Peace. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May Allah give strength to the family. @SajidMusicKhan"

Vishal Dadlani, on Instagram, wrote, "Hard to believe we won't meet again, talk again, laugh again, @wajidkhan_live (in front, in the picture). @sajidk21 my brother, you will never be alone and our brother will never be forgotten."

Harshdeep Kaur tweeted, "My deep condolences to Ji’s family. Still can’t believe that he is no more. Have always seen him smiling and spreading joy around him. Huge loss to the music industry"

Sona Mohapatra, on Twitter, wrote, "Heartbreaking news. Wajid no more. Spent time on the SRGMP show with him as a co-judge & he was so kind & generous. I know he was ailing for a while, regret not picking up the phone on him in this lockdown. Stunned & sad."

Monali Thakur, on Instagram, wrote, "My heart bleeds to even imagine the reality.. #wajidbhai you were indeed one of the sweetest and warmest people I ever knew.. I still can’t believe this.. the hour long conversations and your fun filled smile will be missed for good.. Hope you rest in peace dear brother.. ... You will be missed so much... Your positive energy which is such a rare thing these days, will be missed painfully by the ones who knew you.. loved you.. "

"Devastated with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid of Sajid -Wajid fame. May Allah give strength to the family Safe travels bro @wajidkhan7 you’ve gone too soon. It’s a huge loss to our fraternity. I’m shocked & broken . Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un," tweeted a bereaved Salim Merchant. 

Palak Muchhal shared a picture with Wajid on Instagram and wrote, "Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of #WajidKhan sir, who had been an integral part of my journey since the very beginning! Rest in peace "
