After Salman Khan, Aditya Chopra-led Yash Raj Films to offer financial assistance to daily wagers from FWICE

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has decided to extend help to 25,000-odd daily wage workers of the film industry whose lives have been affected by the ongoing national lockdown that has brought all filming activity in Bollywood to a grinding halt. Salman's contribution will aid the artistes of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE)

Now taking tips from Salman, Aditya Chopra-led Yash Raj Films has reportedly sought account details of the daily wagers from FWICE in order to offer financial assistance since it has been three weeks of the shoots being suspended. "On Tuesday, the team of YRF called asking for account details of the daily-wage workers. We have sent the account numbers of 15,000 workers to them. This is the first big production house that has come forward to show its support," revealed Gangeshwar Srivastav, treasurer, FWICE, to a leading daily.

Meanwhile, over the past few days, several stars have come out in support of government's fight against COVID-19 pandemic and have contributed to PM-CARES Fund and the state government's relief fund. "We are grateful to Salman Khan, and Rohit Shetty who promptly donated Rs 51 lakh for the cause. Many others are donating directly to the government," Gangeshwar added.

It was only yesterday that Ajay Devgn pledged to contribute Rs 1 lakh to FWICE.
