Coronavirus Effect: Salman Khan extends monetary help to families of 25,000 daily wage employees; actor to transfer the required amount to their bank accounts

The sudden outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus aka COVID-19 has brought the whole world to a standstill. With the number of infected increasing at an alarming rate per day, shoots of web series, television shows and films all across the nation have been cancelled until further notice. This shutdown has burnt a hole in the pockets of daily wage employees and the production team. While celebrities are leaving no stone unturned to extend financial help by contributing to the relief fund set up by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, Salman Khan has joined the Bollywood brigade.

According to a statement by the President of Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE), B N Tiwari, Salman has volunteered to help about 25,000 employees who are in dire need of monetary assistance. Tiwari in his statement to media, told that the superstar’s NGO, Being Human Foundation has asked for the bank account details of the employees to ensure the money reaches them safely. “Salman’s Being Human Foundation has come forward to help daily wage workers. They called us three days ago. We have about 5 lakh workers out of which 25,000 are in dire need of financial help. Being Human Foundation said they will take care of these workers on their own. They have asked for account details of these 25,000 workers as they want to ensure that money reaches them directly,” Tiwari told in his statement.

Apart from this, a number of celebrities like Kiara Advani, Karan Johar, Rakul Preet Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana and others have volunteered to help under the initiative I Stand With Humanity, which is started by organisations the International Association for Human Values, the Art of Living Foundation and the Indian Film and TV Industry. Under the cause, the contribution will provide families of daily wage workers with 10 days of essential food supplies.

Actors like Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and many more have stepped forward to donate money to the relief fund set by the State and Central Government.
