Anees Bazmee sent us all into a zone of excitement with the announcement of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the central roles, the project is among the most awaited films of 2020. As the shoot for the horror film began in October in Mumbai, the audience has been awaiting some further updates. Now, with the team gearing up for the shoot portions of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Rajasthan, director Anees, during an interview with a leading daily, addressed the speculation of it being a sequel of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Clarifying the buzz, Anees told that apart from the name, the title song, as well as Aami Je Tomaar (Mere Dholna), are the only aspects that have been retained. He further added that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has a different story and is completely original.
“This is a completely different story. Besides the title, we have taken two songs from the original -- the title song and the Bengali song. The rest of the film is completely original,” Anees told during the interview.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa was directed by Priyadarshan and featured Vidya Balan, Akshay Kumar and Shiney Ahuja in central roles along with Ameesha Patel, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and others in important roles. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, apart from Kartik and Kiara, stars Tabu. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani and is scheduled to release on July 31, 2020.
