Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Trailer: Chiranjeevi leads the first uprising against the British in this larger-than-life historical drama, Amitabh Bachchan acts as his anchor

Phew! The wait is finally ended as the trailer of the much-awaited Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was unveiled today. The film had already piqued the audiences’ interest as it had two of the biggest names in India Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi sharing screen space. The trailer is spectacular, larger-than-life and promises an epic war film.

The trailer opens with Amitabh’s baritone giving an insight into the background of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who led a revolt against the East India Company. The trailer calls him ‘a monk’, ‘a warrior’ and ‘not a common person’ and declares that this is the first war of Independence much before the 1857 revolt led by Jhansi Ki Rani, Tantya Tope and Bahadur Shah Zafar II. According to the annals of history, Narasimha Reddy led a peasant uprising in Kurnool in the 1840s.

Besides Chiranjeevi, the trailer prominently features Vijay Sethupathi’s character who swears his allegiance to Narasimha Reddy proclaiming, “I will be Lakshman to his Ram, in victory or in death.” Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy features Jagapathi Babu, Ravi Kishan, Nayanthara, Tamannaah and Niharika.

The film is produced by Ram Charan, Excel Entertainment and AA Films in association with Konidela Productions. The film is directed by Surender Reddy and is slated to release on October 2, 2019.
