‘I got married at 29, supposedly young for an actress, but I did it because I was in love’, says Anushka Sharma on marrying Virat Kohli

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli always manage to provide some major relationship goals. The two professionals who are at the top in their field never fail to support each other and always manage to establish great ground rules for a successful marriage. The adorable couple took everyone by surprise when they tied the knot in December 2017 in Tuscany, Italy. Their wedding pictures are what fairytales are made of and they have never shied away from showing off their love in public or on social media after they got married.

Recently in an interview with an entertainment magazine, Anushka revealed why she tied the knot at such a young age. She said, “Our audience is way more evolved than our industry is. Audiences are just interested in seeing actors on screen. They don’t care about your personal lives, whether you’re married or whether you’re a mother. We need to get out of this headspace. I got married at 29, supposedly young for an actress. But I did it because I was in love. And I am in love. Marriage was a natural progression."

She also praised her cricketer husband and said, “His honesty is something I deeply value. I’m an honest person and have suffered on account of that. He’s brutally honest too. I’m so happy that I met someone like him because we both lead our lives with complete honesty. It’s so transparent and clean. I have a life partner with whom nothing is pretentious. Everything is real. Also, the fact that we both support each other. He’s someone, who’s constantly trying to get better professionally and as an individual. I’m also like that. We don’t take ourselves so seriously. We’re similar as people. That’s why we get along."

On the work front, Anushka was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero that also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The actress has not announced her next project yet. On the other hand, Virat had a good World Cup 2019 leading team India to the semi-finals where they lost to New Zealand.
