After churning out biopics by the dozen and remakes, now Bollywood filmmakers are venturing beyond the seas to find inspiration for their films. So we had Bharat an official remake of the South Korean film Ode To My Father, now filmmakers are not blatantly copying off foreign language films that was rampant in the 90s but are painstakingly adapting them to appeal to Indian audiences. A few months ago, it was reported that the 2016 musical hit Begin Again will be remade in Hindi.
Begin Again revolves around a has-been musician trying to regain his footing in the industry with a new voice who is dealing with her won issues. The film has well-developed and deep characters and apparently the Hindi version is going to offer a plot twist on the original film. The fight for the male lead is already happening and as per a trade website, both Aditya Roy Kapur and Sidharth Malhotra is vying for the role.
Sidharth and Aditya have both contacted the producers and makers of the film and expressed their interest but the casting process has still not started. Well, Aditya has already done a similar role in Aashiqui 2 where he finds Shraddha Kapoor and introduces her to the industry. However, it would be interesting to see who finally gets the role.
