Contrary to rumours, Karan Johar is NOT rewriting Vicky Kaushal’s character to equal Ranveer Singh’s role in 'Takht'

Karan Johar-directed Takht is one of the biggest and highly anticipated films in 2020. The film not just enjoys grandeur but also a great star cast. With actors like Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal in the house, one can surely expect an explosion of talent on screen. Interestingly, a leading daily recently reported that taking Vicky's sudden popularity post-Uri: The Surgical Strike into consideration, Karan has rewritten Vicky's part (as Aurangzeb) to match the level of that of Ranveer's character in the film. Reports also stated that Karan has been reworking to give Vicky more screen time in the film.

However, contrary to these reports, a source close to the film has denied any changes in the script stated, "Takht will be shot with the same character sketch that the actors had signed for. The success or failure of an actor won't change the flow of the film."

Takht also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles apart from Ranveer and Vicky. The film is scheduled to release in 2020. In the film, Vicky plays the role of the Mughal King Aurangzeb while Ranveer is Shahjahan’s son Dara Shikoh, and will be directed by filmmaker Karan Johar.
