It's the season of reunions for many Bollywood celebrities and joining the bandwagon is none other than Saif Ali Khan and Tabu. Reportedly, the stunning actress is all set to share screen space yet again with Saif Ali Khan in Jawaani Jaaneman. A comic take on a man’s confrontation with the harsh reality of life, the film is primarily a story about a father and daughter. Helmed by Nitin Kakkar of Notebook fame, it will mark the debut of Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaia F as well.
While several reports suggested that Tabu's role is an extended cameo, a report in a leading daily now reveals that it’s an interesting role and the producers felt that Tabu fit the bill. Talking about it, co-producer Jay Shewakramani told the daily, “It’s too early at this stage to reveal Tabu’s character in the movie. All I can say at this point is that she has an extremely special role. She was always the first choice for Saif, Nitin and me and we are glad she agreed." While Tabu and Said haven't been paired together romantically, they have starred together in film's like Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1998) and Biwi No 1. Well, it would certainly be a delight to see them carve their magic on the silver screen again.
For the unversed, Jackky Bhagnanis Pooja Entertainment has come on board as co-producer for the family comedy, which is being backed by Saif's Black Knight Films and Jay's Northern Lights Films. Jawaani Jaaneman is expected to go on floors next month. The 45-day first shoot schedule will be in London.
