Wearing a rubber coating on your face for 12 hours a day is not really the safest thing for an actress: Taapsee Pannu on Saand Ki Aankh

Taapsee Pannu, who was last seen in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Badla, has already begun shooting for her next project titled Saand Ki Aankh, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar. The two actresses bring the story of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, the country's oldest women sharpshooters, in Anurag Kashyap’s next production, which marks the directorial debut of Tushar Hiranandani.

Talking about the film's shooting schedule, Taapsee told a leading daily that she has learnt to drive a tractor for the film apart from “getting a hang of Haryanvi, doing household chores while also working in the fields.” Interestingly, both Taapsee and Bhumi are expected to wrap up their portions by this month-end and the shooting schedule has resulted in their new friendship. “It’s my first biopic, where the character I am playing is still alive and was around during the shooting which adds to the responsibility. Bhumi and I are having a good time on sets and on our days off watch films and have meals together,” Taapsee was quoted as saying.

Further claiming that the role is one of the most intense and difficult experiences of her career, Taapsee pointed out, “Wearing a rubber coating which wrinkles your face 12 hours a day for 50 days at a stretch is not really the safest thing for an actress given that our face is our USP. It takes me three hours to get ready,” adding, “In an industry where people prefer playing half their age, I chose to play someone older than my mother.”

She signed off by saying that Saand Ki Aankh is the biggest gamble of her career until now, and she cannot wait to know how the audience reacts to it.
