Deepika Padukone ko wife bana diya; this is an achievement, says Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh has termed his wedding to Deepika Padukone as a big “achievement”. Yes, of course. While speaking at an event in New Delhi on March 1, Ranveer gushed about Deepika saying, “Deepika Padukone ko wife bana diya, yeh hota hai achievement! Tere bhai jaisa koi hard-ich nahi hai!" Ranveer said at the event.

Tere bhai jaisa koi hard-ich nahi hai is a popular line of the song Apna Time Aayega from his new film Gully Boy. Ain’t nobody better than Ranveer Singh at framing lines as such, right?

While speaking of his relationship with Deepika, Ranveer said that he was aware from their first meeting itself that she is the one for him. Although Deepika “took her time to come around,” for Ranveer, the period was like a ‘breeze’. "What can I say? Six years, fielding ki bhai ne...aur pakda catch!" Ranveer added.

Ranveer was patient enough for Deepika as he said, “Within six months of our relationship, sometime in 2012, I knew that she was the one. I knew that this is the woman I wanted to marry and grow old with, this is the mother of my children. I just knew it. That's it. I went about it that way. I nurtured it and cultivated it, I worked on it. She took her time to come around and I was patiently waiting. It was just a matter of time. It was whenever she wanted and whatever she wanted. But I just wanted her," he said.

Describing Deepika as the “kindest, warmest, most amazing, all-consuming magic soul,” he has ever met, Ranveer reiterated that he considers himself to be the “luckiest guy in the world,” to have her as his life partner.

Ranveer and Deepika, co-stars of films Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, married in Italy in a two part-wedding – in a Konkani ceremony on November 14 and in a traditional Anand Karaj on November 15, 2018.

Workwise, Deepika Padukone began filming Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy released on February 14.
