The trailer of Ranveer Singh’s new film Gully Boy has been released but his wife Deepika Padukone hasn’t watched it yet, he revealed at the launch event in Mumbai on Wednesday. Deepika, though, has seen the teaser and she loved it as much as we did.
“She loved the teaser and is yet to see the trailer,” Ranveer said at the event. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy casts Ranveer as a street rapper from Mumbai. While Ranveer introduced Asli Hip Hop to Hindustan in the announcement video, the actor was seen rapping Apna Time Aayega in the trailer and did a fab job.

Asked if he would like to rap for his wife, Ranveer said at the event, “I will do a solo show for Deepika.” Of course, why not. Ranveer and Deepika, co-stars of films Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, married in Italy in a two part-wedding – in a Konkani ceremony on November 14 and in a traditional Anand Karaj on November 15.

Set in the slums of Mumbai, Gully Boy co-stars Alia Bhatt as a medical student and Ranveer’s love interest. Kalki Koechlin also appears in the film as an influential musician. The trailer of Gully Boy has gone viral within seconds of being made available online and has occupied one of the top spots on the trends list.
