Sudha Chandran Turns Fierce as a Mother Seeking Justice in ‘Devi’ on Tuk Tuki This Navratri

The actress steps into a powerful new role that celebrates Nari Shakti, portraying a mother whose search for her missing son transforms her into a force to reckon with.

This Navratri, veteran actress Sudha Chandran is all set to portray a compelling and emotionally charged character in Devi, a story that explores a mother’s love, grief, courage and quest for justice. Streaming on Tuk Tuki, the show follows the journey of a mother who leaves Patna and travels to Kolkata in search of her son, only to uncover a shocking truth that changes her life forever.

In Devi, Sudha Chandran plays a mother who initially sets out with the hope of finding her missing son. However, as she begins piecing together the clues, she discovers that her son has been murdered. What follows is the transformation of a soft-hearted mother into a fierce woman determined to deliver justice and confront the criminals responsible for her son’s death.

Speaking about the role, Sudha Chandran expressed her excitement about being part of a project that offers her something distinctly different from the characters she has portrayed so far.

“I am super excited to play a character named Devi. It is the story of a mother who leaves Patna in search of her son in Kolkata but is unable to find him. As she starts solving the puzzle, she discovers that her son has been killed. The way a soft mother transforms into Devi in the truest sense and takes on the criminals is what makes this story so powerful,” she shared.

For the actress, the project is particularly special because of its positive and emotionally layered narrative. She believes the story captures the strength that emerges in a woman when she is confronted with unimaginable challenges.

“Finally, a role that is absolutely different from what I have been playing so far. It is a positive role, filled with emotion, and when challenges are imposed on a woman, the Nari Shakti within her comes out. For me, this is a tribute to Nari Shakti during Navratri. I feel blessed and honoured to be a part of this project,” she added.

The timing of Devi makes the story even more meaningful, coinciding with Navratri, a festival that celebrates the many forms of the Goddess and the power of feminine energy. Through her character, Sudha Chandran brings alive the idea that a woman’s strength is not always visible; sometimes, it emerges when she has nothing left to lose and everything to fight for.

With its emotional core, gripping mystery and a mother’s relentless pursuit of justice, Devi promises to present a powerful narrative of resilience and the indomitable spirit of womanhood.

Through this project, Tuk Tuki continues to bring audiences a story centred on courage, emotion and the triumph of a woman’s inner strength, making Devi a fitting tribute to Nari Shakti this Navratri.
