Priyanka Chopra who was about to make her comeback in Hindi films with Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat opposite Salman Khan has now left the project. Yesterday Zafar took to his Twitter to share the news of the actress’s exit from the film. His cryptic tweet hinted at PeeCee’s impending marriage with American singer-actor-songwriter Nick Jonas. Soon after his tweet that went viral news of Priyanka’s engagement and October marriage started doing the rounds.
However, laying aside the good news there were speculations that Salman was miffed with the actress and Priyanka had walked out of the film because her role was curtailed. However, an official statement from the producers quashed all these rumours and Priyanka’s exit was cited as personal. Soon, speculations started rising about who would take Priyanka’s place in the film and the name of Katrina Kaif was foremost since she shares a great rapport with Salman as well as Zafar. However, now Zafar has cleared the air by taking to his Twitter account and announcing that they will soon be disclosing the name of the leading lady for Bharat.

It remains to be seen which lucky lady will bag the period drama opposite Salman. Besides, the Race 3 actor the film also stars Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Aasif Sheikh and Jackie Shroff. Disha and Salman have already started the shoot for Bharat. The first shooting schedule of the film is a circus sequence mounted on the likes of great Indian-Russian circus like the one seen in Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker. Salman plays a daredevil stunt motorcyclist whereas Disha plays a trapeze artist in the film.
Meanwhile, Priyanka will be seen in Shonali Bose’s next directorial venture tentatively titled The Sky is Pink opposite Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. The film is based on the motivational speaker and author Aisha Chaudhary. Yesterday, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the producer of the film shared a sneak peek video from the sets of the film that went viral on social media.
