Alia Bhatt’s initiative ‘Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe’ light up homes for 40 families in Karnataka

A few months back Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt announced her philanthropic initiative called ‘Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe’. The initiative mainly involved many of the actress’ belongings from her personal closet put up for sale at the Stylecracker Night Market. With this, fans were able to go, physically check and buy things of their choice that once belonged in Alia’s closet. In less than an hour, the stall was entirely sold out.

The proceeds from this wardrobe sale were then used to light up homes for forty families in Mandya district’s Kikkeri Village in Karnataka. Extending their support to Alia’s cause was a Liter of Light, an initiative of a Bangalore based NGO called Aroha. This organization recycles plastic bottles to provide solar lamps to economically backward communities that have limited or no access to electricity.

With ‘Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe’, Alia has begun to contribute her bit to the society and is impacting lives with a promise for a better tomorrow. The 25-year-old actress who adores her pet cat, Edward, also created a platform Coexist which works to create awareness around ecological issues.
