Anil Kapoor talks about Mr. India sequel without Sridevi and Amrish Puri: Life goes on

Anil Kapoor and late Sridevi starrer film Mr. India is a cult classic we can all binge watch on any given day! Amrish Puri still remains one of the most ruthless baddies in Bollywood for his portrayal of the iconic villain Mogambo. There were talks that Anil and Sridevi would be back for the follow-up of the movie, originally directed by Shekhar Kapur. But the evergreen actress breathed her last in February earlier this year. So what happens to the fate of a probable sequel to the movie?

Talking about a sequel to Mr. India, Anil, who graced the 19th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) said it will happen when it has to happen and that Sridevi and Amrish Puri are surely missed. He was quizzed about the sequel of the 1987 entertainer at the green carpet of the gala awards night. "Every film has its own destiny. And when it's going to happen, it's will happen," replied Kapoor.

Short on words over his co-actor and sister-in-law Sridevi's demise earlier this year, Anil said, "Now you know... she... you know... she obviously... We will miss her, we will miss Amrish Puri, Mogambo... But life goes on. We miss all of them and we will try our best to follow their legacy and so that we can make them proud, we make a good film and they appreciate it."

The actor, who has clocked 35 years in the film industry and whose latest release is Race 3, is now looking forward to Fanney Khan. Earlier on Sunday, Kapoor had unveiled the first poster of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra production. With a tiffin box in one hand, a small tuba in another, the actor is set to embark on a new chapter. He also is carrying a bag but doesn’t face the camera. Another striking feature is the presence of three music legends in the background.

What’s more? The teaser will be out on June 26! "People have loved the poster. It is trending on social media in India. Now I am looking forward to the film," said Anil on the lines of the first poster.

Fanney Khan also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao. The film is releasing on August 3.
