Govinda to essay triple-role in ex-CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani’s 'Raju Rangeela'

Govinda and former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pahlaj Nihalani go back a long way. Twenty-five years after collaborating on one of the most loved and popular films of the 90s Aankhen (1993) the duo are coming back together in another film titled Raju Rangeela. Interestingly, while in Aankhen, Govinda played a double role, in this movie he will be seen in a triple role.

However, Aankhen was produced by Nihalani and directed by David Dhawan but this new film will also be directed by the former. Pahlaj while talking about his next venture for which the shooting has already been going on for the past one month at ND Studios said, “Govinda will play a triple role in Raju Rangeela. I will also be introducing three new girls in it.”

Digangana Suryavanshi (who appears in the television serial Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veer) will be one of the leading ladies of the Govinda starrer film. She has already worked with the actor in FryDay which is slated to be released on May 11, 2018. Nihalani has been working on this movie even while he was the CBFC chief. He had voiced his wish to go back to making movies after being replaced by Prasoon Joshi.

Nihalani has produced around 19 movies in his 35-year-long Bollywood career and directed quite a few of them too. He has also served as the president of the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Programme Producers (AMPTP). Govinda is known to be a versatile actor and has played double role in numerous films like Aankhen, Hathkadi, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Anari No.1 among others.

It remains to be seen whether the duo can once again weave magic at the box office the way they did with Aankhen or not? Meanwhile, we are keeping our fingers crossed in hoping that the versatile actor with superb comic timing and impeccable dance moves once again rules the box office.
