A few days ago, it was this very gang of gals who stole all the attention from their glamorous mamas, at Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan’s wedding anniversary bash at Alibaug. Suhana Khan, daughter of Gauri and Shah Rukh; Ananya Pandey, daughter of Bhavna and Chunky Pandey; and Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Maheep and Sanjay Kapoor, are all at the age where they have blossomed out of their gawky adolescence and morphed into gorgeous butterflies. What’s even better, is that they are thick as thieves and are rarely if ever spotted minus one another, whether it’s at a party or catching a movie.
Hailing from a similar background, they have more or less lived in fame’s backyard and soon it could well be time for them to make their formal bow in Bollywood. A glance at the pics of the three from Ananya’s 19th birthday blowout proves we could be expecting an announcement any time soon! According to recent reports, Suhana has already been spotted at certain places where auditions are known to take place in the city. Opinion is divided over whether she auditioned herself or whether she had merely accompanied her BFFs Ananya or Shanaya to these auditions. The consensus is that the girls might well be testing the waters, discovering what goes into giving an audition and how they take place.
The Khans have made no secret of the fact that Suhana is attracted to acting. “Suhana wants to be an actress. I see that zeal in her,” Shah Rukh had said about his second child. “She’s extremely good on stage, I’ve seen her performances. She’s admittedly a cinema fan and wants to be in the industry. But my point is simple — you need to complete your education before doing anything. That’s the only thing I have told my children.”
The exquisite Ananya Pandey hit the headlines for receiving a call to the only by-invitation debutante ball in the world, Le Bal. The pretty lass has evidently started college at the University of Southern California. Buzz is already rife that Ananya will reportedly make her debut with a sequel to Karan Johar's Student Of The Year.
Not much is known of Shanaya’s acting ambitions, but with Anil Kapoor for an uncle and Sonam and Arjun Kapoor for cousins, it would be difficult for this angelic-faced teen to resist the lure of stardom.
Even as this terrific trio complete their education – solely to please their parents, we suspect! – they effortlessly keep interest high in B-town circles as well. Bollywood is waiting!
