Arbaaz Khan leaves for home after rigorous questioning by 5 Crime Branch cops

For five hours, five police officers of the Anti-Extortion Cell of Thane Police’s Crime Branch interrogated Arbaaz Khan in their office before releasing him this evening. The actor and filmmaker, who was summoned to the Thane Crime Branch, has reportedly confessed to his connection with Dawood Ibrahim Company bookie Sonu ‘Malad’ Jalan in the IPL betting racket.

Arbaaz has admitted to having betted crores of rupees on the IPL matches. When he was unable to make good his losses, Jalan is said to have threatened Arbaaz that he would reveal his involvement in the illegal betting. When Jalan was arrested, a little red diary on his person with details of all his dealings with celebrity punters led the police to Arbaaz.

Five police officers of the Thane Crime Branch, led by Sr. PI Pradeep Sharma who was an encounter specialist with the Mumbai Police, are said to have questioned Arbaaz. He reached there at 11 am sharp accompanied by Shera, the trusted bodyguard of elder brother Salman Khan. The police reportedly brought Arbaaz face-to-face with Jalan and confronted each of them with the findings of their investigation.

The police were keen on knowing which IPL matches Arbaaz betted on through Jalan. They also wanted to know the real reason why Jalan, whose hold extends to countries far and wide, was threatening Arbaaz. And since when Arbaaz knows Jalan and who else from the D-Company is he friendly with.

Before leaving for the Thane Crime Branch, Arbaaz met Salman and father Salim Khan at their Galaxy Apartments residence in Bandra this morning. Salman’s legal team, which is fighting his court cases in Mumbai and Jodhpur, also arrived at Galaxy Apartments. It is believed that these legal eagles will be engaged in helping Arbaaz in his IPL betting case. The Khandaan waited in tension for news from Thane about Arbaaz’s interrogation all afternoon.
