FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week: Drama and car-ma with Anamika Khanna and showstopper Shraddha Kapoor!

You and I will be told to use the parking lot, but if you are the showstopper then you can drive right inside the venue and onto the catwalk! Well, that was the case as actor Shraddha Kapoor glided slowly into sprawling space of Anamika Khanna’s AK - OK show presented by Nexa at the FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week.

She was in a Ciaz car, all painted up like a graphic artwork in motion. She was the lady in black, in a ripped asymmetrical dress. Yes, she did walk also and it felt like the walk of life.

The show started with much drama with dancers in skullcaps doing what looked like a dervish dance on a raised platform as the multitude of models went down and all around, showcasing the chic collection.

You could say that AK - OK is an energy, of acceptance, freedom and versatility. The collection, not couture and not quite pret, hinges on modernity and is timeless at the same time with the ensembles that translate easily from day to night.

With her latest line, Anamika touched upon various aesthetics, distinct silhouettes and ended with a range of ensembles, each carrying an individualistic character of its own. The shapes were easy and fluid, the colour palette moved from whites and blacks, into blues, little bits of metal and finally into ‘everything’.

All in all, it was a show to remember.
