Case against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumarr Modi, Mumbai Police yet to make arrests

Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, landed in legal trouble. A couple of months ago, actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Roshan Sodhi came out in the media and accused him of extending sexual advances to her multiple times. Later, Monika Bhadoriya, popularly known for playing Bawree in the sitcom, opened up about the toxic work environment on the set.

Now, months later, the Powai Police registered a case against Asit, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. In a tweet, a media agency shared Mumbai Police's official statement. The tweet read, "Powai Police has registered a case against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj under sections 354 and 509 of the IPC based on a complaint by an actor of the show. No arrests have been made in this case so far: Mumbai Police."

Jennifer quit the show before coming out in the media. In several interviews, she spoke about the unfavourable working conditions on the set of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. However, hitting back at her initial claims, Asit said in a statement, "We will take legal action as she is trying to defame me and the show both. Since we terminated her services, she is making these baseless allegations."
