Sudhanshu Pandey, Narayani Shastri and Abrar Qazi test positive for Coronavirus; Ridhima Pandit's mother breathes her last due to COVID-19

The country is witnessing the second wave of COVID-19. Even though production houses are taking necessary precautions, several actors have tested positive in the past few weeks. Adding to the worry, several TV actors have contracted the virus in the last few days.

Sudhanshu Pandey, who has been shooting for Anupamaa, has tested positive for COVID-19. The producer of the show, Rajan Shahi, as well as the lead actress, Rupali Ganguly, have also contracted the virus.

On the other hand, Narayani Shastri, currently seen in Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha has also tested positive for COVID-19. Sonali Jaffar, Full House Media Pvt. Ltd, the producer of the show, said in a statement, "Actor Narayani Shastri who is an integral part of the TV show ‘Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha’ has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19. She is receiving medical attention and is home quarantined at the moment. Immediately thereupon the entire cast & crew were isolated and tested. We are constantly in touch with the entire team as their health is our priority."

Abrar Qazi of Yeh Hai Chahatein fame is also under home quarantine for COVID-19. Balaji Telefilms said in a statement, "Actor Abrar Qazi who is an integral part of the TV show ‘Yeh Hai Chahatein’ has tested positive for COVID-19. As soon as the symptoms were detected, he received medical help and has quarantined himself. Immediately thereupon the entire cast & crew were isolated and tested."

Ridhima Pandit lost her mother to COVID-19 today. According to a leading daily's report, Mrs. Pandit was taken to the hospital 2-3 days ago. A source close to the Bahu Hamari Rajnikant actress told the daily that Mrs. Pandit was suffering from a kidney ailment for many years now. 

The source said, "She was managing her life well, her kidneys were being somehow maintained. This is nothing but cruel fate that COVID struck her and the complications began." Ridhima and the rest of the family members couldn't meet Mrs. Pandit. "The family was unable to meet her due to her hospitalisation and the death has left them deeply shocked," the source added.
